About Our Founder

“When we invest in the people who educate and lead our youngest children, we transform communities. Empowered educators shape empowered generations.”

— Alexandra Portillo

Alexandra is an educator, mentor, and visionary leader committed to transforming early childhood education with heart and purpose.

Born in Mexico City and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alexandra understands what it means to adapt, to start over, and to find power through education. Inspired by her resilient mother, she grew up believing in hard work, community, and the transformative potential of learning values that now define her work with EverLearn.

With over a decade of experience in both classrooms and professional development spaces, Alexandra has worked with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers across public and private settings. She has also guided hundreds of educators—especially Latina women in pursuing higher education and growing as leaders in early childhood education, helping them not just advance their careers but enhance their practice and impact in the field.

Alexandra holds a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She has partnered with multiple nonprofit organizations to support Spanish-speaking educators across New York State.

Her approach is rooted in humanity, cultural pride, and the unwavering belief that early childhood educators deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. Through EverLearn Education, Alexandra is not just offering training she’s building a movement. A movement that uplifts educators and leaders, transforms how we prepare our youngest learners, and redefines what leadership looks like in early childhood.

About EverLearn Education

It began in a preschool classroom—with one teacher, a circle of children, and a deep belief in the power of early education.

Long before EverLearn became a trusted home for early childhood educators, it was a vision rooted in the heart of Alexandra—a passionate first-generation college graduate, immigrant, and Latina educator.

Alex started her journey in early childhood with one powerful belief: every child deserves to feel seen, and every educator deserves to feel supported. She was the kind of teacher who sat on the floor, laughed with children, asked big questions, and built lasting connections with families. Whether in public programs or private preschools, she knew early childhood wasn’t just a phase, it was the foundation for life.

But even as she gave her heart to teaching, she saw something missing.

Professional development felt impersonal and disconnected. There were few pathways for growth, especially for bilingual educators, immigrant women, and those historically excluded from leadership. The system wasn’t built with their voices in mind.

Then came 2020.

As classrooms closed, Alexandra’s purpose only deepened. She recorded video lessons for her students to maintain connection and stability during chaos. But through this shift, a deeper truth emerged: educators were overwhelmed, under-resourced, and left to figure it out alone.

That pivotal moment sparked something bigger. Alexandra saw an urgent need to reimagine professional development not as a checklist, but as a space for growth, belonging, and empowerment.

So she created EverLearn Education, a bilingual, culturally responsive platform designed to support early childhood professionals in meaningful, transformative ways. What began as one educator’s response to crisis has grown into a vibrant, community-driven movement. Today, EverLearn helps educators pursue their CDA, elevate their careers, and lead with purpose.

Because educators aren’t just preparing children for the future. They’re shaping it.
